Is Dermaplaning for Everyone?
Nearly all skin types can benefit from dermaplaning. However, it is not recommended that dermaplaning is performed on those suffering from severe acne and on people who have over production of the sebaceous gland. *Extremely oily skin*

How Should I Prepare for my Treatment?
On the day of your treatment please avoid extensive exercise, sun or tanning beds, waxing, hair removal or other forms of exfoliation, swimming pools, hot water including saunas, Jacuzzi’s and hot tubs. Cease use of any products containing Retinol, AHAs, Glycolic, Lactic and Salicylic acid 5 days before treatment.
If you are prone to cold sores, it is recommended that you take your cold sore medication 2 days before treatment, on the day of the treatment and 1 day after treatment. This is a recommendation and precautionary measure.
How Do I Care For My Skin Post Treatment?
​After your dermaplaning treatment we recommend avoiding sun exposure for 48 hours post treatment and to wear broad spectrum SPF 30+ for the following 7 days. Avoid using active skin care ingredients for 3 days post treatment including AHA’s, BHA’s, and retinols. It is best to not wear makeup or to excessively sweat (exercise) for the rest of evening after a dermaplaning treatment.

Q: How long will dermaplaning take?
A: Dermaplaning can take anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes.
The time of the treatment is dependant on how much exfoliation of dead skin cells and vellus hair there is remove off the treatment area. The add on of a chemical peel or a facial mask after dermaplaning will also lengthen the time of treatment.

A: No, dermaplaning does not make your hair grow back thicker and darker.
Your hair will grow back exactly the same thickness and colour as it was previously. You can not change the hair follicle by simply shaving off the hair at the surface level.

Q: Will dermaplaning hurt?
A: No, dermaplaning if pain free.
In fact dermaplaning is considerably less painful than waxing, tweezing and threading. Feather light strokes remove dead skin and peach fuzz. Dermaplaning is non abrasive and is pain free.

Q: Will dermaplaning cause breakouts?
A: No, dermaplaning will not cause outbreaks.
Not only will dermaplaning not cause breakouts, it will actually help prevent them from happening. By exfoliating the dead skin, this will help to keep your skin clear. It will allow for much better product penetration. With the dead skin cells, oil, and debris removed in the follicle, the active ingredients will absorb quicker and more effectively, speeding up cell turnover and killing more bacteria. Removing the top layer of dead skin with the dermaplaning tool will help to alleviate congestion.

Q: Can I use a regular razor to dermaplane my face at home?
A: While you can use a regular razor to shave your face, you will not get the same results as a proper dermaplaning tool.
A proper dermaplaning tool uses a sharp, single blade by a certified professional. You will not get nearly the amount of dead skin and peach fuzz removed as you will with a professional dermaplaning treatment.
